30 While I’m 30 – Update

Six months ago I turned 30 and created my “30 while I’m 30” list.

Apparently, getting older also makes the earth rotate faster, because the last six months have been an absolute blur! There never seems to be enough hours in a day to accomplish everything, and there is most definitely not enough sleep at the end of it all. — counting my blessings that my new apartment has allowed me to get an extra hour of sleep daily!

So how have I progressed on my “30 while I’m 30” list? I haven’t made much progress (I think I have crossed off three things), but not for a lack of trying! Look at the original list HERE and then my progress below:

#5 – I spent Memorial Day doing absolutely NOTHING! Houston worked on some PDBJay stuff for me (I love you, sweet man) but I just lounged around in sweat pants and binged watched an entire season of Deadliest Catch – I am classy, what can I say?

#12 – Houston and I went to Long Beach and enjoyed kayaking around Naples Island. The weather was beautiful and we spent an hour paddling around looking at all the homes. Now, if only I had a waterproof camera and proof that we were there! That camera is on the Christmas list this year. For $10 a person, kayaking is great entertainment and it is better than spending the money on the movies!

#7 – Picnic in the park got cancelled because I tried to fit WAY too many things in one day. Lucky for me, it is still 100 degrees in Southern California and I have plenty of weekends left to make this happen.

Pie baking (#8) will commence once the weather cooperates and turning on my oven doesn’t feel like I have opened the gates of hell.

Try as I might, I have not been able to find any colored pants (#10) – at least not any that are flattering. I will keep trying because this is adorable!

#20 is my favorite!!! – I have had the opportunity to thank several service men (no ladies yet) while I have been out and about. I think I startle most of them when I walk up and thank them for their service. Old men beam with pride and young men politely say that it is their honor. I fully plan on making this a lifetime “thing to do.” Our military deserves some thankful citizens, wouldn’t you agree?

Massages. I like #21. I’ve had four in six months. So happy. So relaxed.

I also managed to organize the list and update the few things I have completed. You can follow along HERE or click the 30 while I’m 30 link on the toolbar at the top of this page.

Looking forward to crossing some more things off the list before the end of the year!

*Spoiler alert:
Can you see the reflection in my sunglasses and guess which item on my list just got crossed off? Be on the lookout for the answer in my next post!

Happy half-way through the work week, friends!

What an awesome post! Great idea. I may have to "borrow" this idea . I LOVE #20 on your list. Good on you, what a lovely thing to do. We don't have that many service men walking around when I live so I'm gutted I won't be able to do this. Oh and my guess is that you are at the San Diego Zoo with your nice camera?? 🙂

What a great list! Glad you are able to check off some things on your list. I have on my list to get a passport. If I do another list maybe I'll plan for the actual trip. I think I might have actually found a trip buddy. Most of my friends don't follow through on trip planning. I'll be looking forward to your next update. Great to find someone else doing the challenge while 30. Most of the posts I've seen were people going the challenge before the big 30. I missed that but still wanted to do it. This has really motivated me to get some things done. 😃 I randomly found your post through your IG hashtag
