Buffalo Plaid and Poinsettia Bridal Shower

The Fab 5 had our fourth quarter gathering two weekends ago and four of us were in on a secret: we planned a surprise Buffalo Plaid and Poinsettia Bridal Shower for Alisha!

Now, I must admit that I had very little to do with the planning stage of the party. I was sick for two weeks and my contributions to the party prep were my thumbs-up emoji texts to the other girls as they planned, purchased, and prepped everything. Thanks girls!

Shauna and Brittany basically stalked the dollar section at Target to find enough of everything; no one store had enough to make a complete set and table setting. The girls persevered and found everything we needed to make the table look fabulous! Shauna designed the tablescape, using scarves as a table runner, poinsettia napkin rings, black linens, and gold chargers.

 

What I did contribute was a whole bunch of plates, cake stands, and glassware for our setup. I also helped set everything up the day of and had a blast creating the hot chocolate bar. I filled my Wayfair mini trifle bowls with various cocoa toppings:  chocolate chips, marshmallows, candy canes, and coconut shavings. We also filled a large jar with the cocoa powder and added a beautiful framed printable that Leah made.

 

Then, to my surprise, Brittany arrived with homemade macaroons. Seriously, I am surrounded by talented women.

Alisha was very surprised – especially when I asked her to stop and pick up ice so we could make sure everything was finished before she arrived.

It has been hard for me to deal with the reality that we are all in very different places than we were seven years ago. Marriages, babies (for some), relocating, and time generally moving faster than we would all like. I cherish the three or four times a year we can all get together for a couple hours and connect face-to-face.
