I have been trying really hard to incorporate lots of color into my food to get more variety with my fruits and vegetables; really anything is an improvement since I could eat macaroni and cheese every day. Making sure my taco salad is colorful means that it will taste delicious and give me the nutrition I need to get through the work day slump or our adventurous weekends.

I love to eat Mexican food (no secret there) so it makes sense that this meal is one of my favorites. A taco salad is able to travel with us for weekends on the go or even a picnic at the park. I pack the meat in a container so that it stays hot and then assemble the rest of the salad whenever we are hungry. It is perfect for taking to our city’s concerts in the park or other events this summer.

Houston’s brother actually introduced us to the El Yucateco® brand and it was love at first bite. We really love the Green Chile Habanero for use on a daily basis. I usually put some in a bowl and add it as I eat while Houston loves to cover his plate with it. We also love hot sauce in our house and have a shelf in the pantry with a variety of our favorites from El Yucateco®.

We use the Red Chile Habanero to help season our ground beef for our taco salad bowls for extra flavor. We like that the El Yucateco® Red Chile Habanero has great flavor with far less vinegar than other hot sauces; something I appreciate since I am not a vinegar fan.
