DIY Bunny Bottles

Spring is coming and that means it is time to break out the pastel craft projects and make some Easter decorations. First upon my spring crafting list: DIY Bunny Bottles that are filled with Easter candy. They would be a great gift by themselves or as part of an Easter basket. The button nose just makes me smile – especially since the buttons are from a huge box of buttons that I inherited from my Gram.

We don’t really get different seasons in southern California, but I am really looking forward to daylight savings and getting a little more daylight in the evenings after work.

We picked up some MARS® Mixed Mini Bags – 165ct – Spring themed bags at Sam’s Club over the weekend while we were doing our weekend shopping. Sam’s Club is the Easter destination to shop early and stock up for spring. They had so many cute Easter items already out and I was so tempted to buy Easter dresses for my nieces. The MARS® Mixed Mini Bags have a great variety in one bag with 5 different kinds of mini chocolate candies.

What you need:
Glass Milk Bottles
Googly Eyes
Buttons
Black Permanent Marker
Pink Cardstock
Scissors
Adhesive/Glue Gun

Start by separating the delicious candy by type and then fill your milk jars with one type of candy in each. You could also make a mixed bottle with a variety of candies.

Attach googly eyes to the front of the jar (I thought it was cute to use two different sizes), add a button nose, and draw on whiskers with a black permanent marker to make your Bunny Bottle face.

Next, cut out two bunny ears by folding a piece of pink cardstock in half, and cutting out one ear. Cut along your fold and you will have two matching ears. I freehanded my ears so that they were all unique. Fold a small section of the bottom of the ears, add adhesive, and attach to the lid to finish your bunny bottle.

These bunny bottles would be great to leave on co-worker’s desks, add to an Easter basket, or hide as part of an Easter egg hunt. Tell me how you would use them in the comments and tag your photos with #PDBJayCrafts on social media!
