It has been hot the last two weeks in Southern California, like 110 degrees or more, hot. In my opinion, there is no bigger bummer than having to run the air conditioner so early in the summer and nearly sweating to death while walking from my car into Sam’s Club. I’ve been trying to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water, but let’s be real, a girl can only drink so much water before it gets totally boring.
My favorite summertime beverage is Simply Lemonade® and I’ve been enjoying it by the glassful; especially after I found it at Sam’s Club for only $3.58 (I asked about the awesome price and the two pack of bottles will be that price through summer 2016). I just love how refreshing it is and that it’s an all-natural juice drink that contains just a few simple ingredients, like pure filtered water, cane sugar, not-from-concentrate fruit juice and natural flavors.
So this past weekend, on yet another 100 degree day, I decided to break out the blender and make some berry lemonade slush!
Triple Berry Lemonade Slush Ingredients:
1 ½ cup Simply Lemonade®
½ cup frozen Berries
4 Frozen lemonade cubes (or plain ice cubes if you haven’t planned ahead)
– Makes one serving –
How to make a Triple Berry Lemonade Slush:
Pour some Simply Lemonade® into ice cube trays and allow it to freeze overnight.
Combine ½ cup of frozen blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries with 1 ½ cup of Simply Lemonade® in a blender. Mix well.
Add 4 frozen lemonade cubes and continue mixing.
Pour into a glass with a sugar rim and garnish with a lemon slice.
To finish off my triple berry lemonade slush, I grabbed one of my favorite glasses (I just think the shape is so fun) and used a little lemon juice from the discarded lemon along the edge of my glass. Then I gently dipped the rim of the glass into granulated sugar on a plate.
Let me tell you, these are delicious and I will be bringing my blender and ingredients to my parent’s next weekend for the 4th of July to help everyone stay cool. Simply Lemonade® is the perfect refreshing beverage for all of my family’s summer gatherings and I think everyone is going to love this triple berry lemonade slush.
How will you use Simply Lemonade® to keep cool this summer? I would love to hear about your 4th of July plans in the comments.
