Ready to add a little fun to your at-home Halloween? Grab some black cardstock and make these super cute Spider Halloween Cupcake Wrappers. The design also includes the cute little spider to add as a cupcake topper.

I definitely choose cute decorations over spooky ones for Halloween at our house. These Spider Halloween Cupcake Wrappers would be so cute on a table or as part of party decor for a Halloween party.

Estimated Time: 10-15 Minutes

Skill Level:  Beginner

Supplies Needed:

Step One:  Create Your Spider Halloween Cupcake Wrappers:

Open Silhouette Studio® on your computer.

Select the Page Setup Window and adjust your cutting mat size to 12×12 (or the sized mat you are using).

First, you will need to purchase your Spider Web Cupcake Wrapper Design from the Silhouette Design Store and then open your design in Silhouette Studio. Click File>Library>Library>Recent Downloads>Select the downloaded spider web cupcake wrapper design.

One wrapper and one spider will appear on your screen. Copy and paste as many as you will need/can fit on your cardstock sheet. I cut out two spiders for every one wrapper. Right-click and “ungroup” to be able to copy and paste just the spider a couple extra times.

Turn on your Silhouette CAMEO® 4.

Attach your cardstock to the cutting mat and load into your machine by lining up your mat with the guidelines and pressing the “up” arrow.

Next, click “send” in the Design Studio and then select the type of cardstock you are using from the dropdown menu.

Double-check to make sure your design has been selected to cut and the Silhouette CAMEO®4 autoblade had been selected. The autoblade will adjust to cut based on the type of material you selected. I suggest always doing a test cut to make sure it will work with your cardstock – there is a “test” button at the bottom of your screen.

Click “Send” to start cutting.

Press the “down” arrow when your machine has finished cutting your design to remove the cutting mat from the machine.

Step Two: Preparing Your Spider Halloween Cupcake Wrappers:

Remove your sheet of cardstock from the cutting mat – go slow so it doesn’t curl up. Tip: flip your cutting mat over and peel the mat away from the paper.

Use your fingers or a wedding hook to remove the excess cardstock. I set the little stars to the side to reuse as confetti.

Step Three: Finish Spider Halloween Cupcake Wrappers:

The cupcake wrappers are already the perfect size for standard cupcakes as long as you don’t re-size the design.

Curl the cupcake wrapper in a circle and hook the cutout into the small slot on the other side. I added a small bit of adhesive just to make sure mine stayed together.

I always suggest placing an unfrosted cupcake inside the wrapper and then frosting your cupcake. It is can be messy trying to place already frosted cupcakes in the wrappers, but it can be done.

Add some nonpareils purple sprinkles to the top of your cupcakes for extra decoration.

Step Four: Assemble a Spider Topper for Your Spider Halloween Cupcake Wrappers:

To make your spider cupcake topper, take one spider and add some double-sided adhesive to one side.

Lay your toothpick on top of the adhesive and then add a second spider on top of the toothpick. This makes a spider sandwich around the toothpick so you can stick the toothpick into the cupcake.
