Valentine’s Day Cupcake Wrappers

I love making cupcake wrappers with my Silhouette Cameo. They are such a fun addition to any holiday or party, and they are super easy to make with a premade design from the Silhouette Design Store. I made these Valentine’s Day Cupcake Wrappers in under 10 minutes. Keep reading to see how easy it was.

Supplies Needed:

• Silhouette CAMEO®
• Silhouette Cutting Mat
• Weeding Hook
• Silhouette Studio
• Valentine’s Day Cupcake Wrapper Design
• Red Cardstock

How to make Valentine’s Day Cupcake Wrappers:

1. Open up Silhouette Studio® on your computer.
2. Select the Page Setup Window and adjust your cutting mat size to 12×12 (or the sized mat you are using).
3. Download your Valentine’s Day Cupcake Wrapper Design from the Silhouette Design Store and then open your font in Silhouette Studio. Click File>Library>Library>Recent Downloads>Select your downloaded file.
   
4. Copy and paste the design – try to get as many to fit on one sheet of cardstock as you can. You can also ungroup and move the elements around if you want to utilize even more of the space.
   
   
5. Attach your cardstock to the cutting mat, color side up, and load into your machine.
   
6. Follow the prompts in the Design Studio for the type of cardstock you are using and double-check to make sure your design has been selected to cut.
7. No need to adjust your blade with the new Cameo 4. The Autoblade will adjust to cut based on the type of material you selected. I suggest always doing a test cut to make sure it will work with your cardstock.
8. Select “Send” to start cutting.
9. Press the “down” arrow when your machine has finished cutting your design to remove the cutting mat from the machine.

Preparing Your Valentine’s Day Cupcake Wrappers:

1. Remove your sheets of cardstock from the cutting mat – go slow so it doesn’t curl up.
   
2. Use your fingers or a weeding tool to remove the excess cardstock. I set the little hearts to the side to repurpose as confetti.
   

Creating Your Valentine’s Day Cupcake Wrappers:

1. These cupcake wrappers are already the perfect size for standard cupcakes. The Silhouette Design Store designers never cease to amaze me.
2. Curl the cupcake wrapper and hook the cutout into the small slot on the other side. No tape or glue required!
3. I suggest making the Valentine’s Day Cupcake Wrappers, placing an unfrosted cupcake inside and then frosting your cupcake. It is harder to place already frosted cupcakes, but it can be done.
   
4. I also make toppers with this design by taping a toothpick to the heart and then gluing the flap closed over the toothpick.
   
   

These Valentine’s Day Cupcake Wrappers would be cute for any party, whether it is kindergarten, daycare, or for an office full of sweet-toothed co-workers. You can arrange them as-is on a table or a tiered cupcake stand would be beautiful too.
