I decided to go to college seven years ago and this year I will finally (finally!) have my bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. It hasn’t been an easy road and my sweet husband has dealt with more tears and emotional breakdowns than I would like to admit, but I cannot wait to hold that precious (and expensive) piece of paper in my hands. I can’t wait to celebrate never having to read another textbook or take a final exam – let’s be clear, it is never too late to go to college, but it is a whole lot harder in your 30’s if you do decide to go back. I will be throwing a graduation celebration after the commencement ceremony which will be followed by a weekend-long nap and a much-anticipated EPIC crafting session.

I may have 14 weeks to go but young people all over the States are gearing up for graduation season. Kindergarten, middle school, high school, and college students will be getting ready to wear a cap and gown and hold their certificate or diploma. I think it is important to celebrate educational victories and accomplishments on any level and I asked Houston to whip up a cute “you’re one smart cookie” printable for me.

We had a blast setting up a graduation party to celebrate a graduate who is “one smart cookie” using Nabisco Chips Ahoy and OREO cookies. We grabbed some bags from our local Stater Bros. Market to put together our cookie party and I noticed a sale sign for Nabisco and Coca-Cola™ products, so I grabbed some Coca-Cola bottles as well. The sale was a great value because in May, save $2 when you buy any four (4) Coca-Cola .5L/6pk, 6pk glass, mini-cans and Nabisco family size or 12 count single serve products and in June two (2) for $6 mix and match Coke .5L/6pk and Nabisco Toasted Chips with Digital Deals.

We love shopping at Stater Bros. Markets and are lucky to have one near our home and one near our day jobs – I frequent the one near work to pick up dinner supplies on my lunch breaks.

We filled small mason jars with Chips Ahoy and Oreo cookies and then attached the corresponding printable to the top of the jar. We added some ribbon/twine around the edge for extra color.

We made a fun cookie pyramids as my centerpiece instead of a cake and then added our “smart cookie” jars around the table as well. We used plain paper fans and added our graphic to the middle to fancy up our backdrop.

I love that this printable can be used to celebrate the graduate of any age and I am sure it would be a big hit with the younger graduates (us 32-year olds have to watch our figures).

These easy gifts would also be great for teachers to give to their students, students to make for fellow classmates, or to decorate with at home for a graduation party like we did! The cookie jars are easy to transport and will definitely win some cute points for the gift giver.

Tell me who’s the “smart cookie” you know that would love a graduation cookie jar (with Nabisco cookies, of course) or how you would use these in the comments!
