Bunny Bucks – Toddler Finances Activity

This past weekend my son asked to play “store” with some of his toys and I remembered my Amy Robison Easter Celebration Party Pack contained some printable bunny bucks – the perfect play money for the afternoon! I always love encouraging real-life play, especially when I can incorporate some learning disguised as fun. We did a ton of math, calculating $5+$1= $6 bunny bucks and also counting back change from the $5 bills.

I pulled up the Bunny Bucks pages in the PDF (29 & 30) and printed off several copies. It was the perfect afternoon play activity.

Estimated Time: 5-10 Minutes

Skill Level:  Beginner

Supplies Needed:

Step One:  Print Your Bunny Bucks:

Visit Amy Robison’s site to purchase the Easter Celebration Party Pack and save it to your computer.

Open the PDF.

Send the Bunny Bucks pages to print from your printer. I printed 2 copies of each type of which gave me 10 of each. The heavy cardstock helps the bunny bucks stay stiff and makes them easier for tiny hands to sort.

Step Two: Cutting Out Your Bunny Bucks:

Use your paper trimmer to cut out your Bunny Bucks. You can also use the print and cut function with the Silhouette software but my little guy loves helping with craft projects so we opted for the paper trimmer.

Three: Ready to Play:

Add your Bunny Bucks to a cash drawer. Mine is an old cash drawer we use for yard sales; yes, we take yard sales seriously.

Now you’re ready to play “store” in under 10 minutes! Since I already had the party pack from last year and we own the cash drawer, it didn’t cost me anything to spend some time crafting and using our imaginations.
