Here’s what makes this project a Halloween must-do:

  • It’s beginner-friendly (no sewing required!).
  • You can use any color sweatshirt you like — classic black, soft gray, or even bright orange. – But white looks just right for Jack’s head

Step 2: Upload and Cut Your Design

Once you’ve downloaded the SVG, open your design software (Silhouette Studio or Cricut Design Space) and upload the file. Resize the image to fit your sweatshirt — I usually go with about 9–11 inches wide for an adult size.

Don’t forget to mirror your image before cutting since you’ll be using heat transfer vinyl.

Cut your design, then weed away the excess vinyl to reveal that iconic Jack Skellington face.

Step 3: Position and Press

Lay your sweatshirt flat on your heat-safe surface and preheat it for a few seconds to remove any wrinkles or moisture (it also helps activate your HTV when you lay it down).

Position your Jack Skellington SVG design where you want it.

Press according to your vinyl’s instructions (usually around 305°F for 10–15 seconds). Once cooled slightly, peel away the carrier sheet and admire your work (be sure to see if your HTV says “hot peel” or “cold peel”!)

Step 4: Style and Enjoy!

That’s it! You’ve officially made your own DIY Jack Skellington Sweatshirt. Throw it on for your next Halloween event, pair it with leggings for a cozy night in, or wear it to Disneyland for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
