I have been cleaning in 2020. Like really cleaning. I discovered Go Clean Co. on Instagram and immediately went out to buy some powdered Tide to scrub my house from top to bottom. But orange is my least favorite color and the bright orange powdered Tide box made my eye twitch every time I walked into the laundry room. My solution: make a powdered Tide decal for a pretty jar!

I bought this jar on a 2019 trip to IKEA and it was just waiting for the right decal – a powdered Tide decal it is!

Supplies Needed:

Step One:  Create Your Powdered Tide Decal:

Open Silhouette Studio®.

Select the Page Setup Window and adjust your cutting mat size to 12×12 (or the size mat you are using).

Measure your glass jar.

Purchase the RR Kinder Font from the Silhouette Design Store and open it in the Silhouette Software. Click File>Library>Library> Fonts from the menu>Double click your file. I used the RR Kinder font on my pantry bins and love how it looks.

A text cursor will appear in the middle of your mat. Type “Powdered Tide”.

Highlight the text and re-size to the size you would like your decal to be on your jar. You can see the inches in the little numbers under the gray lines outlining your text box.

Step Two: Cutting out your Powdered Tide decal:

Turn on your Silhouette Cameo 4.

Attach your Adhesive Vinyl to the cutting mat, color side up, and load into your machine by lining up the mat on the guidelines and pressing the “up” arrow on the touch panel.

Follow the prompts in the Design Studio for Adhesive Vinyl and double-check to make sure your design has been selected to cut.

Click “Send” in the design studio to start cutting.

Press the “down” arrow on the Cameo 4 touch panel when your machine has finished cutting your design to remove the cutting mat from the machine.

Step Three: Preparing Your Powdered Tide decal:

Remove your Adhesive Vinyl from the cutting mat – go slow so it doesn’t curl up.

Use a paper trimmer to cut away the vinyl you won’t be using. Don’t waste any valuable pretty vinyl.

Use your fingers or a weeding tool to remove the excess vinyl. Be sure to leave your design on the white backing sheet and get be sure to get the vinyl out of the loops and middles of your letters.

Step Four:  Creating Your Powdered Tide decal:

First, make sure your glass jar surface is clean and dry. I like to wipe the surface with an alcohol wipe.

Place a piece of transfer tape over your Powdered Tide decal.

Use the scraping tool and scrape the top of the transfer tape to make sure the design adheres to it.

Gently pull transfer tape up away from the backing sheet and make sure the entire design lifts with it.

Center your text on your glass jar and press it down from left to right.

Finally, slowly remove the transfer tape from your glass jar. Tip: pull from a corner and not the side to make sure each part of the design transfers completely to your glass jar.

I literally ran to Houston to show him my Powdered Tide jar as soon as I finished. My craft room also smelled so fresh and clean, so that was a bonus. Tell me if you have joined the Go Clean Co. revolution in the comments.
