When I saw this “I Fix Quarantine Haircuts” SVG from My Designs in the Chaos I knew I would need to make a gift for my stylist. I had the great challenge of giving my husband a haircut after he couldn’t stand how long his hair was anymore. I have never cut anyone’s hair and I was terrified. The haircut wasn’t too bad, and the hubs was full of praise for my efforts, but it wasn’t great.
Thank goodness for stylists who will be able to save us from all these new bangs, wife-haircuts, and the hair that hasn’t been cut at all. Lucky for me, I stopped dyeing my hair in 2018 and my silver highlights are all the way down to my chin.
Estimated Time: 10 Minutes
Skill Level: Intermediate
Supplies Needed:
- Silhouette CAMEO®
- Silhouette Cutting Mat
- Weeding Hook
- Silhouette Studio
- “I Fix Quarantine Haircuts” Design – From Club Chaos
- Adhesive Vinyl – Black
- Water Bottle
- Transfer Tape
Creating Your I Fix Quarantine Haircuts Water Bottle:
Open up Silhouette Studio®.
Select the Page Setup Window and adjust your cutting mat size to 12×12 (or the sized mat you are using).
Measure your water bottle to determine the size of your decal.
Download your I Fix Quarantine Haircuts Design from the My Designs in the Chaos – Club Chaos (a monthly subscription club with free SVG files every week) and then open your file in Silhouette Studio. Click File>Open>Select your downloaded SVG.
Re-size your design on your 12×12 template – be sure to move the design as a group so it keeps everything lined up. I rotated mine vertically but you can leave it horizontal as well.
Attach your Adhesive Vinyl to the cutting mat, color side up, and load into your machine.
Follow the prompts in Silhouette Studio for Adhesive Vinyl and double-check to make sure your design has been selected to cut.
Select “Send” to start cutting.
Select “Unload” when your machine has finished cutting your design to remove the cutting mat from the machine.
Preparing Your “I Fix Quarantine Haircuts” Decal:
Remove your sheet of Adhesive Vinyl from the cutting mat – go slow so it doesn’t curl up.
Trim any excess vinyl to save for later.
Use your fingers or a weeding tool to remove the excess vinyl. Be sure to leave your design on the backing sheet.
Creating Your I Fix Quarantine Haircuts Water Bottle:
Place a piece of transfer tape over your decal.
Use the scraping tool to make sure the design adheres to the transfer tape.
Gently pull transfer tape up and make sure the entire word lifts with it.
Center your design on your water bottle and attach it from left to right.
Use your scraper to make sure the vinyl adheres completely to the bottle.
Slowly remove the transfer tape. Tip: pull from a corner and not the side to make sure each part of the design transfers completely to your tumbler.
This water bottle is the perfect gift for a hairstylist. Let’s be grateful they went to cosmetology school and know what they are doing since it is much harder than it looks!
